Why sprouts?
Current food production is struggling. To meet growing demand, the environment is being destroyed, enormous amounts of energy are being consumed, food safety and contamination risks are dramatically increasing, and quality is dramatically declining.
For these reasons we decided to focus on a superfood like sprouts, the demand for which is growing rapidly throughout the world, thanks to their high nutritional properties.
How do they germinate?
For this production we created SPR, a machine that, following the principles of Industry 4.0, produces sprouts in a highly automated and very simple to use way.
Compared to traditional production systems, with SPR everything is automated, the electricity and water requirement is significantly lower, sanitized water is used which greatly reduces the risk of contamination and, finally, sprout production times are also halved.

SPR - Automatic sprout growing machine
- What is Sproutie?
Sproutie is a fully automated sprouting machine. It's an automatic machine for growing sprouts in less time, without soil or chemicals. The most advanced smart factory systems allow for monitoring vital signs.
Inside the development chamber, the essential elements are light, water, and heat, without the addition of fertilizers or chemicals. Advanced software allows us to reproduce the day-night cycle, measure water intake, and regulate temperature and humidity to create an environment and microclimate so favorable that the seed germinates in an incredibly short time.

Our technologies: the air-water circuit is equipped with mechanical filters and UV lamps to filter and sanitize the air and water entering and exiting the development chamber. Water not absorbed by the seeds is collected, filtered, sanitized, and recirculated thanks to a patented system that allows for a virtuous and eco-friendly cycle. Energy and water costs and consumption are reduced. Cultivation occurs without soil and with local raw materials in an ultra-compact and clean space, ensuring food self-sufficiency even in difficult environments. SPROUTIE is equipped with 6 cylinders. For quality production, each cylinder can hold 1 to 5 kg of seeds of cultivable varieties and yields 5 to 10 times the original weight.
How is it done?
The seeds are collected and placed into the 6 cylinders. Fill the bottom of each cultivation cylinder with 500 grams of alfalfa seeds.
The recipe is started from the control panel and the machine automatically starts the cultivation cycle.
Once the recipe is complete, the cylinder is removed and the sprouts are harvested.
How is it done?

The patented transport device
It comprises two identical inclined frames with an angle of less than 90° and specularly opposite to the machine plane, so as to generate a substantially V-shaped transport channel into which the products are loaded and transported.
